Introduction to theSchool of Economics and Management
Growing up with the pace of reform and opening-up policy, the School of Economics and Management has experienced several essential development periods, including the Management Teaching and Research Section (founded in 1980), the Department of Economic Management (founded in 1993), and the School of Economics and Management (founded in 2001).
We have one Ph.D.-conferred unit in oil and gas resource economics and management. We also have one master's degree conferred unit in Business Administration, which covers four secondary disciplines, including Enterprise Management, Technology Economics and Management, Tourism Management, and Accounting. What's more, we have one master's degree conferred unit in oil and gas resource economics and management. There are two professional master's degree conferred units: Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc). There are nine undergraduate majors: Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Project Management, Tourism Management, Accounting, Marketing, Economics, and International Economics and Trades. The discipline of business administration is a provincial key discipline. The major of business administration is a provincial critical specialty and a provincial first-class primary construction site. To attract students, the major in Business Administration employs multi-class recruiting.
The college consists of five departments: business administration, accounting, engineering management, marketing and tourism, and economics and trade. We have nine teaching and research sections, including business administration, marketing, tourism management, human resource management, accounting, financial management, project management, economics, and international economy and trade. Besides, we have four supporting institutions for teaching and research: the Institute of Energy Economics, the Modern Experiment Center, the MBA Education Center, and the MPAcc Education Center.
The college has a team of highly qualified and professional teachers committed to teaching and rigorous research. The college has eighty faculty members, including twenty professors and twenty-six associate professors (including other senior titles). The number of senior titles accounts for 69.6% of the total number of faculty members. There are twenty-six doctoral students and twelve doctoral candidates. There are 39 teachers with master's degrees, and they account for over ninety-five percent of all those. There are four doctoral supervisors and forty-nine master supervisors, of whom 36% are professors. Seventeen students have overseas study and research experience. Meanwhile, fifty-two famous entrepreneurs and business elites are employed as external teachers.
College students stick to their original goals, forge ahead, and focus on developing their talents.To build a first-class undergraduate and graduate education with distinctive characteristics as guidance, the school always adheres to the educational philosophy of "education-oriented, academic-soul, and quality-supreme", sticks to the academic spirit of "teach to enlighten, educate people to cast soul", upholds the "self-improvement, rigorous scholarship" spirit of the school, and implements the educational principles of "moral education, student-centered, result-oriented, continuous improvement, integration of production and education, and precision training". We should build on our strengths, improve weaknesses, seize opportunities and meet challenges, and vigorously promote the new construction journey of the School of Economics and Management. What's more, we nurture students to become ambitious and down-to-earth with a solid theoretical foundation and reliable cross-cultural communication and information technology applications. To make them become people full of the spirit of innovation, patriotism, and spiritual characteristics of Daqing, our ultimate goal is to cultivate high-level compounds and applied talents to meet social development needs.
All of the faculty members stick to pursuing scientific dreams and strengthening scientific research. In total, we have undertaken nine national philosophy and social science fund projects, one national natural science fund project, six projects of education humanities and social science from the Ministry, one national spark plan project, one national education scientific planning project, one national postdoctoral fund project, and one hundred and twenty-seven provincial-level projects. Moreover, we have issued 54 high-level papers, published 23 works, and compiled textbooks. We have won 36 awards, including the Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Award of the China Association of Petroleum Enterprises, the Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Award of Heilongjiang Province, the Excellent Teaching Achievement Award of Heilongjiang Province, and the Excellent Humanities and Social Science Achievement Award of Heilongjiang Province.
A new era, a new journey. All the faculty members embrace the new generation, meet new challenges, create a "New School of Economics and Management," and create a "New Future." We should pay close attention to the construction of high-quality teachers with noble ethics and excellent professional skills, cultivate high-quality professional talents with both political integrity and ability, and contribute to high-level academic achievements with theoretical depth and application value. We will strive to build the college into a distinctive and well-known high-level compound and applied professional talent training and energy economy research base and strive to make more remarkable contributions to talent training, scientific research, social services, and cultural inheritance!
